Grant Overview

Measuring Success in Arts, Culture, History, Music & Humanities Initiatives ## Evaluating the Impact of Grants to Support Projects Led by Professional Choreographers or Companies ## Reporting Requirements for Arts and Culture Grants for Nonprofits ### Measuring Success in Arts Initiatives Grantees must demonstrate the effectiveness of their projects in achieving the proposed outcomes. The Banking Institution's Grants to Support Projects Led by Professional Choreographers or Companies funding initiative prioritizes the development, U.S. touring, and/or dissemination of innovative dance productions. To measure success, grantees are required to track and report on specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with the grant's objectives. These KPIs may include the number of new dance works produced, the number of performances held, audience engagement metrics, and the number of individuals served. For instance, a grantee may be required to report on the number of attendees at their performances, as well as demographic data such as age, location, and socioeconomic background. Effective measurement of these KPIs requires grantees to establish robust data collection and reporting systems. The National Arts and Cultural Exchange (NACE) standards provide a framework for arts organizations to assess their performance and impact. Additionally, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) guidelines for museum evaluation can be adapted for dance companies to assess their programs. Compliance with these standards and guidelines is not mandatory, but they offer valuable guidance on best practices in evaluation and reporting. One concrete regulation that applies to this sector is the National Endowment for the Arts' (NEA)
